|
The MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes beat the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 6-5, in part because of shortstop Marcos Herrera. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. MSL Cape Coral has a record of 2-2.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With MSL Cape Coral trailing 5-4, Herrera jumped on a splitter from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Miguel Cantú and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Hurricanes had a walk-off win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Herrera told reporters after the game.
