Piranhas Hang 4-2 Loss on Pandas
|
MSL Panama City beat MSL Montana on the strength of starting pitcher Song-saeng Paek's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Paek, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. The Piranhas raised their record to 2-0.
The Pandas had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Piranhas going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old designated hitter Dong-u Kim came to the plate. Kim hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch fastball from MSL Montana hurler Alberto Germán. It was Kim's 1st home run of the year.
"Song-saeng is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said MSL Panama City manager Anthony Mitchell.
