Bowties Earn Late Win
|
The MSL Buckhead Bowties locked up a win at MLB Buckhead Ballpark, knocking off the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan, 5-4. On the mound for MSL Buckhead was right-hander Scott Goff. He played a major role in the triumph. MSL Buckhead pitcher Peter Pace got the win, upping his record to 2-2. James O'Connor got the loss. MSL Buckhead is now 4-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 4-4, 17-year old shortstop Júlio Cruz won it for MSL Buckhead. With the bases loaded, Cruz hit a 2-1 fastball from Dan McFarland for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"This place was electric at the end," Goff said.
