Sterling Excels, But Divided Win
|
The MSL D.C. Divided withstood an impressive performance by MSL Oakland second baseman Ralph Sterling to defeat the Oaks, 8-7, at MSL Oakland Ballpark. Sterling belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Armando Rosa, the winner, goes to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts over 5.1 innings. Dwien Bellanueva earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.
Dametrius Crownover had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth for MSL D.C.. With the bases loaded and the Divided leading 7-6, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Crownover told the MSL D.C. Observer.
