The Philadelphia Liberty withstood an impressive performance by Ft. Worth catcher Juan Sánchez to defeat the Cattlemen, 6-5, at Liberty Park. Sánchez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jorge Montoya was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 14 save opportunities. The 4th-place Liberty now have a record of 31-29.

Bartolo Rojas drew 1 walk for Philadelphia. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Rojas came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Liberty in front, 6-5.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Rojas. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
