MSL Long Island beat MSL Cape Coral on the strength of starting pitcher Ed Lemay's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Picking up the save was Duk-yeo Yo, his 4th. MSL Long Island has now won 3 straight, while the Hurricanes have lost 4 in a row.
Lucena, Philippines-born Winston Gaston came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Lighthouse trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put MSL Long Island on top.
"Ed was hitting his spots and everything had life," said MSL Long Island manager Nees Bogermans.
