Salazar slugs 2 home runs to Power Lighthouse Offense
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the MSL Long Island Lighthouse and MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen.

MSL Long Island third baseman Sergio Salazar made his presence felt in the 9-6 Lighthouse triumph over the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Salazar was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Elton Willetts picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-0 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 5 runs. John Reed earned save number 1 this season.

In the top of the first, Salazar pounced on a 0-2 fastball from Rodrigo Morán and hit a 2-run home run. It put MSL Long Island on top, 2-0.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Salazar said. "We did a good job of that today."

With the loss, MSL Ft. Worth is 4-2.
