Battery Deal Ponies 4-1 Defeat

MSL Charleston pitcher Larry St. John had a large part in his team subduing the MSL Kingston Ponies, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. MSL Charleston reliever Matvei Laenko picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Anastasio Valenzuela absorbed the loss. MSL Charleston has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jean Dupont? The 18-year old second baseman Dupont stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put MSL Charleston up, 3-0. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Bottom line," said MSL Kingston skipper Dan Taylor, "we didn't play well enough to win."
