Great Effort by Aghamirzaeijenaghard Wasted in 7-6 Patriots Loss
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers withstood an impressive performance by Boston designated hitter Ali Aghamirzaeijenaghard to defeat the Patriots, 7-6, at Pittsburgh Grounds. Aghamirzaeijenaghard was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Brad Pratly in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Orlando Díaz took the loss. Ernest Cooley got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Pittsburgh right fielder Brian Anderson delivered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 2.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Anderson.
The loss has the Patriots at 9-8.
