Kel Calhoun made an impact in the 7-5 MSL Detroit win over MSL Charleston. Calhoun, who is tied for 3rd in the 3MSL in hits with 16, went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. MSL Detroit reliever Luis Padilla picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Sze Wan shouldered the loss. Getting the save was Albert Martínez, his 2nd.

The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fifth inning, when the Elite were trailing 4-2. Nicol Stolk delivered a two-out 3-run home run for MSL Detroit, catapulting his team into the lead.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Calhoun told the MSL Detroit Observer.

The 5th-place Elite lifted their record to 6-5.
