MSL Dayton Ballpark was the site for M3L Mexican Summer League action featuring the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds and MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes.
The MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes pinned a convincing loss on the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds, 11-1, at MSL Dayton Ballpark. Noburo Sugiyama was a main factor in the win. He went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 3 for MSL Cape Coral. Gilbert Lyon earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work.
MSL Cape Coral used a well-timed hit by Arnaud Garcia to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hurricanes ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We were firing on all cylinders," said Hurricanes manager José Córdova.
MSL Cape Coral is 11th in the 3L MSL with a record of 5-7.
