Fontanez Goes Deep Twice, Helps Blue Demons Top Ponies, 10-6
MSL Mexico City center fielder Sancho Fontanez was instrumental in helping the Blue Demons triumph, 10-6, over the MSL Kingston Ponies. Fontanez was 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Dennis Wilkerson picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 5 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The save went to Bertrand Gilbert, number 4 for him.

Bob Bennett had a big 2-run double for the Blue Demons in the bottom of the second inning. With MSL Mexico City leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 17-year old left-handed pitcher Corey Leather and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Demons ahead, 3-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bennett said.

The 8th-place Blue Demons now have a win-loss record of 6-7.
