Battery Thrill Fans with 5-4 Win
Led by Hilton Donaldson, the MSL Charleston Battery downed the MSL Kingston Ponies, 5-4, in 10 innings. Donaldson went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Battery. Reliever Warren Brooks picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Nuruddin Tanui took the loss. MSL Kingston now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 18-year old right-handed pitcher Reynold Bothof had a chance to be the hero. MSL Kingston pitcher Nuruddin Tanui wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Bothof hit a sacrifice fly. The Battery had themselves a thrilling win.

"Nice win for us," said Donaldson. "Now we'll go after the next one."
