Dirty Reds Lose at Home, 6-4
|
MSL Colorado left fielder Nick Tobías contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds. Tobías, who is tied for 7th in the 3MSL with a .481 on-base percentage, went 4 for 5 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Billy Goats. Ben Lane got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Jack Jennings earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ekata Sasthi? The 17-year old shortstop Sasthi stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put MSL Colorado up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said MSL Colorado manager Mike Carlisle.
The Billy Goats sit in second place in the 3L MSL with a record of 9-4.
