Dirty Reds Claim 7-4 Win
|
The MSL Dayton Dirty Reds defeated the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan, 7-4. Right Fielder César Garza deserved a large share of the credit. Garza went 2 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Dirty Reds. Sébastien Lecocq, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 8. MSL Dayton now sits at 3-11, while MSL Nova Scotia falls to 7-7.
Jerry Piper, the MSL Dayton second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 4-2, Dirty Reds. For the game, Piper went 1-5 with a walk.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Piper told the MSL Dayton Herald.
