The MSL D.C. Divided topped the MSL Kingston Ponies, 12-0, with left fielder Mario Pérez playing a big role. Pérez went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 5 for the Divided in the win. Yu Zhan earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Divided now own a record of 7-9.

With MSL D.C. leading 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Pérez hit a fastball from Edmond Ottens for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Divided ahead, 6-0.

"They beat us, they beat us soundly," said losing manager Dan Taylor.
