Big Day for González as Bowties Down Dirty Reds, 9-7
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the MSL Buckhead Bowties and MSL Dayton Dirty Reds.
The MSL Buckhead Bowties beat the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds, 9-7, at MLB Buckhead Ballpark. MSL Buckhead left fielder Miguel González banged out 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 5 runs. MSL Buckhead reliever Gustavo Villegas was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Chris Guzmán took the loss. Peter Pace finished the game for MSL Buckhead and earned his 1st save.
With MSL Buckhead leading 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth, González hit a fastball from Chris Guzmán for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Bowties ahead, 8-4.
"We got the victory," said González. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
The Dirty Reds, at 5-12, have lost 4 straight games.
