Both teams had their chances, but the MSL Charleston Battery eventually prevailed.

In a low-scoring contest between the MSL Charleston Battery and the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds, Pedro Flores was the X factor. The MSL Charleston left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. John Branum notched his 1st save of the season.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Dong-min Pak was at the plate when MSL Charleston scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Battery to go in front, 1-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Flores said.

The Battery improved to 6-11.
