The exploits of third baseman Umberto Ubbens, who is tied for 9th in the 3MSL in RBI with 17, helped the MSL Buckhead Bowties defeat the MSL Kingston Ponies, 12-2. Ubbens was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 5. The 6th-place Bowties lifted their record to 10-8.
With MSL Buckhead leading 9-2 in the top of the ninth, Ubbens batted against MSL Kingston pitcher Otmar Ledvak. Ubbens hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Bowties on top, 12-2.
MSL Kingston manager Jeffery Brock said: "We'll put this one in the trash can and get ready for the next game."
