The MSL Dayton Dirty Reds topped the MSL Oakland Oaks, 9-1, with shortstop Stanley Conklin playing a big role. Conklin went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 for the Dirty Reds in the win. Chi-ju Ou-yang, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held MSL Oakland to 1 run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The Dirty Reds, at 9-2, have now won 5 straight.

With one out in the top of the fourth, Tony Ortíz barreled up a slider from José Mecedone. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Dirty Reds in front, 5-1.
