The Buckhead Bowties were defeated, 4-3, by the Vancouver Grey Wolves at 5 Paces Park, even though Max Meltdown pitched well for Buckhead. Vancouver pitcher Wan-hua Ping got the win. He's now 4-3. Max Meltdown was tagged with the loss. Brad Carter earned save number 14 this season.

Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Raúl Miranda to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Bottom line," said Buckhead skipper Kerry Hofmeister, "we didn't play well enough to win."

By defeating Buckhead, the first-place Grey Wolves improved to 35-27.
