The MSL Detroit Elite went down to defeat to Larry Lambert and his MSL Oakland teammates. The final score was 8-1, in favor of the Oaks. Lambert, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 3 walks. The slumping Elite have dropped 7 in a row.
Jesús Rivera had a big grand slam home run for the Oaks in the bottom of the first inning. With MSL Oakland leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 16-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Gómez and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Oaks on top, 5-0.
"Larry had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said MSL Oakland manager Ricky O'Toole.
