Santana Powers Dirty Reds Offense
|
The MSL Dayton Dirty Reds defeated the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan, 5-2, in part because of first baseman Luis Santana. Santana went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Dirty Reds. Yun Ran picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Simon Meilaart, who is tied for 9th in the 3MSL in strikeouts with 36, was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Dirty Reds are 7-18.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Santana hit a 2-run home run. It thrust the Dirty Reds into the lead, 4-2.
MSL Dayton manager Owen Kieffer commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
