Cattlemen Capture Close Win
|
The MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen took MSL St. Louis pitcher Jesús Franco's best shot and still were able to claim a win at MSL St. Louis Ballpark. The final score had MSL Ft. Worth getting past the Coeur, 5-4. Franco went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 9. The save was credited to Jonathan Matthews, his 3rd. At 9-6, the Cattlemen claim first place in the SL MSL.
MSL Ft. Worth needed the clutch hitting of Feng-linag Que to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 5-2. For the game, Que had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said MSL Ft. Worth manager Alwin Vreekamp.
