The MSL Oakland Oaks received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Ed Alvarado, allowing them to shoot down the MSL Long Island Lighthouse, 2-1. Gustavo García locked down his 5th save. MSL Long Island has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Alvarado, a native of Los Angeles, California, was dealing all game. He kept MSL Long Island hitters off-balance, while giving the Oaks 8 quality innings. Alvarado threw 100 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Alvarado told the MSL Oakland Citizen.
