The MSL Charleston Battery grabbed a win, 5-4, over the MSL Panama City Piranhas in 10 innings at MSL Panama City Ballpark. MSL Charleston third baseman Jeff Hickman was 2-3 with a double and 3 walks. MSL Charleston reliever Matvei Laenko picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. O-min An took the loss. Their 14-12 record puts the Battery 5th in the 3L MSL.
MSL Charleston needed the clutch hitting of Júlio Díaz to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Battery on top, 5-3. For the game, Díaz had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"It was a test of wills," said António Díaz, the MSL Charleston skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
