Lovibond Stars as Ponies Top Oaks, 7-2
The MSL Kingston Ponies topped the MSL Oakland Oaks by a score of 7-2. Leading the way was shortstop Benjamin Lovibond. Lovibond was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Ponies. Picking up the win was Marty MacDonald. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 2. Nuruddin Tanui closed it out for MSL Kingston, earning his 1st save.

There was more than one reason the Ponies beat the Oaks, but Lovibond's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
