Slumping Lighthouse Lose Again
|
The MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves got a good effort from starter Jason Roy in defeating the MSL Long Island Lighthouse at MSL Vancouver Ballpark. The final score was 4-0. In 7 innings, Roy surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The losses continue to mount for MSL Long Island, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
The Lighthouse had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Grey Wolves going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old center fielder Carlton Wilson came to the plate. Wilson hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from MSL Long Island hurler Myron Carter. It was Wilson's 13th double of the year.
"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said MSL Long Island manager Nees Bogermans.
