With first baseman Pedro Hernández leading the charge, the MSL Toronto Thunder defeated the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 6-1, at MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark. Hernández, who is tied for 9th in the 3MSL in RBI with 27, was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kerehi Kaponianani was credited with the save for MSL Toronto, his 1st of the season. The Thunder now own a record of 15-17.
The Thunder got a lift from second baseman Joey Palting, who in the top of the first stroked a first pitch fastball to center for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 3-0.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said MSL Toronto manager Jake Grant.
