7-0 Loss Extends MSL Cape Coral Skid
|
Britt Griffith knocked in 3 runs to help MSL Oakland beat MSL Cape Coral, 7-0. Griffith produced 1 single and 1 home run. The first-place Oaks have won 4 in a row.
The Hurricanes had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Oaks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old second baseman José López came to the plate. López hit a run-scoring triple on a first pitch slider from MSL Cape Coral hurler Fernando Hernández. It was López's 1st triple of the year.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Joe Morris.
