MSL Long Island starter Melchor Nalicat kept the MSL Echo Park hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-0. Lyndon Newson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. With the win, MSL Long Island raised its record to 19-14.

Felipe Hernández went 1-5 for MSL Long Island. The 17-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Koos Lodder. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.

"Melchor giving us the start that he did was huge," said MSL Long Island manager Nees Bogermans.
