Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the MSL Toronto Thunder and the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. MSL Toronto won it, 3-1. MSL Toronto starter Juan Zanudo was in command. Lapaele Bardo earned the save, his 7th. MSL Toronto is now 16-17, MSL Thunder Bay 19-14.

MSL Toronto used a well-timed hit by Claudio Vargas to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Thunder ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Makes our job easier," said Vargas, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
