Dirty Reds Trip Coeur, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The MSL St. Louis Coeur got a superb performance from pitcher António Mendoza, but the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds still won the game, 3-2. Mendoza threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. MSL Dayton reliever Harald Berendsen was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Jesús Sánchez took the loss. MSL Dayton, with the win, is 9-25.
The Dirty Reds got a clutch hit from right fielder Pancho López. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dirty Reds.
"It was a test of wills," said Owen Kieffer, the MSL Dayton skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
