The MSL Charleston Battery had to overcome a fine effort from MSL Toronto pitcher Juan Cruz to win, 6-5, at MSL Thunder Ballpark. Cruz went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Lúcio Rodríguez in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Dereje Bagatui took the loss. The 6th-place Battery sport a record of 19-16.

MSL Charleston used a clutch hit from Jonathan Barnett to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Battery ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Barnett after the game.
