MSL Pittsburgh Decked by Martínez, Dirty Reds
|
The MSL Dayton Dirty Reds pinned a convincing loss on the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 9-1, at MSL Dayton Ballpark. Gilberto Martínez was a main factor in the win. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for MSL Dayton. Júlio Migueles picked up the save, his 1st. Now 28-8, the Dirty Reds have won 14 games in a row.
With MSL Dayton leading 5-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Martínez batted against MSL Pittsburgh pitcher Ming-an Lung. Martínez hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 17th home run of the season put the Dirty Reds on top, 9-1.
"Eventually, the carousel ride will end," said Martínez. "But for now, we'll do our best to enjoy it."
