|
The MSL Oakland Oaks racked up a win at MSL Oakland Ballpark, bumping off the MSL St. Louis Coeur, 4-3. Ed Alvarado, who started for MSL Oakland, pitched effectively for his team. Alvarado, the winner, moves to 7-5. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. Sarfaraz Mohmand got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
MSL Oakland took the lead, 4-1, on Noud Wolthaus's 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off MSL St. Louis pitcher António Rodríguez in the bottom of the eighth.
"I was a little disappointed," said MSL St. Louis manager Harunobu Matsushita. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Oaks have an impressive 24-13 record.
