Coeur Come Up Short at MSL Oakland, 4-3
|
The MSL Oakland Oaks scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the MSL St. Louis Coeur at MSL Oakland Ballpark. MSL Oakland pitcher Avery Finley held his own in the contest. Earning his 3rd save for MSL Oakland was Sarfaraz Mohmand. The 'W' lifts MSL Oakland's record to 25-13.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Luis Sánchez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing MSL St. Louis pitcher Zachary Usherwood, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL Oakland on top, 4-3.
"It was a solid team effort," said Sánchez after the game.
