Billy Goats Deal Dirty Reds 4-1 Loss
|
MSL Colorado turned a good effort from starter Mink Langelaan into a win over the MSL Dayton Dirty Reds at MSL Dayton Ballpark. The Billy Goats won the game, 4-1. Langelaan got the win, improving to 6-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Carl Cook sewed up the save, his 5th.
MSL Colorado used a timely hit from 18-year old shortstop Juan Figueroa to get the win. The third baseman delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Billy Goats on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
Figueroa called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
The Dirty Reds, now 11-29, have lost 4 straight.
