The MSL Toronto Thunder faced a tenacious opponent in MSL Oakland pitcher Rafael Flores, but still scratched out a win at MSL Oakland Ballpark by a final score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Flores went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Lapaele Bardo was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Dan Martin. Pi-ao Rui closed the door for MSL Toronto, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Assefa Kasim hit a run-scoring triple off Dan Martin in the top of the tenth, which put the Thunder in front, 5-4. Kasim had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Thunder manager Jake Grant.
With the win, MSL Toronto has a record of 19-22. MSL Oakland falls to 25-16.
