Bowties Drop Rainbow Mermaids, 5-0
|
MSL Northern Virginia wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Martín Cuestas, falling to the MSL Buckhead Bowties, 5-0. Cuestas threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The save went to Miguel Sandoval, his 1st this season. With the victory, the Bowties record now stands at 19-23.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Luis Ramírez, the 17-year old third baseman ? Ramírez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put MSL Buckhead up, 2-0. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 1 double and 3 singles.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Ramírez told the MSL Buckhead Today. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
