Walk-Off Seals 23rd Victory for Coeur
|
MSL St. Louis center fielder Félix Mireles had 5 ribbies while helping his team defeat the MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves, 6-5. MSL St. Louis reliever Diego Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Denie Vogelsang absorbed the loss. At 23-19, the Coeur find themselves in 7th place in the 3L MSL.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With MSL St. Louis trailing 5-4, Mireles jumped on a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Denie Vogelsang and hit a 2-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Coeur had a walk-off win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Mireles.
