Adams has 3 hits in Northern Lions BC Win
|
Vernon Adams was a major contributor to the 11-7 MSL Thunder Bay win over MSL D.C.. The Northern Lions BC left fielder went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was José Juárez. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The left--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. The 10th-place Northern Lions BC hiked their record to 16-27.
Sacha Heerland had a big 2-run double for the Northern Lions BC in the bottom of the second inning. With MSL Thunder Bay leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Richard Alfons, who leads the 3MSL in triples with 3, and swatted a double to right. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 6-3.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jurg Ursin.
