The MSL Oakland Oaks overcame a good performance by MSL Buckhead right fielder Aldo Maduro to knock off MSL Buckhead, 8-6, at MSL Oakland Ballpark. Maduro was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Ferrie Bolt recorded his 11th save for MSL Oakland. MSL Oakland, with the win, sits at 15-29.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Oaks sent teenager Ismael Jiménez to the plate against Bowties hurler Alberto Gómes. With runners on 1st and 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 0-2 fastball to score 1.
"We maximized our offense today," said MSL Oakland skipper Gomez Talone. "That makes everyone's life easier."
