Salinas Helps Dirty Reds Run Win Streak to 22
|
Fernando Salinas left his imprint on the 8-3 MSL Dayton win against the MSL Oakland Oaks. Salinas, who is tied for 2nd in the 3MSL in home runs with 17, was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. MSL Dayton reliever Pierre Reugebrink picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Javier Acosta was tagged with the loss. The first-place Dirty Reds have won 22 consecutive games.
Salinas contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL Dayton in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Salinas took a fastball from Javier Acosta and stroked the home run to left-center. His 17th home run of the season allowed the Dirty Reds to leap in front, 3-1.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Salinas told the MSL Dayton Today.
