Northern Lions BC Suffer 2-1 Loss to Leviathan
|
In a tight contest at MSL Thunder Bay Ballpark, the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan edged the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC by the score of 2-1. MSL Nova Scotia center fielder Leonard Kawhi, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Xie-li Kun, the winning pitcher, is now 6-4. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 3. With the win, the Leviathan have a record of 27-18.
With MSL Nova Scotia leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Kawhi hit a run-scoring single off MSL Thunder Bay hurler Qi-zhen Pai. It was the 28th hit of the season for Kawhi and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Kawhi, "but we really needed that win."
