Riding the 3-hit performance of the 18-year old first baseman Aidan Opsteegh, the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC stopped the MSL Charleston Battery, 12-2, in 9 innings. Simon Hickman earned the save for MSL Thunder Bay, his 2nd of the year. MSL Thunder Bay is now 27-18, while MSL Charleston is 15-30.

The Battery had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Northern Lions BC going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 17-year old shortstop Jessy Cuypers came to the plate. Cuypers hit a 2-run double on a 2-1 fastball from MSL Charleston hurler Jeff Jacq. It was Cuypers's 8th double of the year.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager António Díaz.
