Hurricanes Beat MSL St. Louis, 6-5
|
MSL St. Louis designated hitter Sylvester Latrobe had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Latrobe was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as MSL Cape Coral beat the Coeur, 6-5. The win went to Tim Johnson in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Moeaktola Alkira took the loss. The Hurricanes, at 34-12, have now won 6 straight.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Keith Jennings? The 18-year old first baseman Jennings stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put MSL Cape Coral up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Big win," said Jennings.
