The MSL Kingston Ponies used the hitting of left fielder Rafael García to subdue the MSL St. Louis Coeur, 9-6. For the game, García was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Eugene Brown got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The second-place Ponies bumped their record to 29-18.
In the bottom of the third, García had a run-scoring double for MSL Kingston. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Ponies on top, 1-0.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," García told the MSL Kingston Observer.
