The MSL St. Louis Coeur withstood a fine game by MSL Cape Coral right fielder Pyeong-kyu Kwak at MSL St. Louis Ballpark, to upend the Hurricanes, 6-5. Kwak went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. MSL St. Louis reliever Pablo Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Marcos Costa absorbed the loss. Moeaktola Alkira earned save number 11 this season.
Frank James, who is tied for 5th in the 3MSL in doubles with 15, contributed to the MSL St. Louis win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I like our moxie," said Coeur manager Harunobu Matsushita.
The 4th-place Coeur bumped their record to 28-20.
