The MSL Echo Park Lakers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by MSL Oakland first baseman José Ramírez by beating the Oaks, 9-8, at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. Ramírez went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Miguel Labato was credited with the save for MSL Echo Park, his 1st of the season. MSL Echo Park is now 19-29, MSL Oakland 32-16.

Pancho Villarreal hit a 2-run double off Sarfaraz Mohmand in the bottom of the third, which put the Lakers in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Villarreal had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Villarreal told a MSL Echo Park Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
